We kicked Nursing Home Week 2017 off on May 13th with a Mother’s Day Tea. This year’s theme was “Spirit of America.” Each day had an American Theme to it and our staff had a decorating contest with a Red, White, and Blue theme. Gardenview won 1st place, Elaine Cochran and Jen Phillips won 2nd, and the Restorative team won 3rd place.
Monday was Auction Day for our residents. Each resident that participated received 30 “Auction Bucks” to spend on various items that have been graciously donated from volunteers and families.On Tuesday, we had “Western Day,” complete with a community wide cook-out and a petting zoo. A special thank-you to Renee Piebenga, Melissa Sanders, Chelsea Johnson, Kim Turcott, Kayla Adrianson, and Jessica Cooley for bringing all of the animals out to visit our folks.On Wednesday, we celebrated American Music by playing a Musical version of Giant Monopoly.Thursday was the Great American Waffle Breakfast that was enjoyed by staff and residents in the morning. We topped Friday off with a bit of ice cream as Coldstone Creamery came once again to give us all yummy sundaes!
