The Allegan County Medical Care Community (ACMCC) hosted the 3rd annual FREE Community Carnival on Friday, June 24th. The event was a celebration of ACMCC’s 46th year serving the community of Allegan County. The carnival included many rides, like Zero Gravity bungee trampolines, bounce house, rock wall, and many more rides. Many carnival games were played, as well as face painting, hot dogs, popcorn, etc!
So, why a carnival fund raiser? Our elders who live in nursing homes cope with the challenges of aging and disease processes, but the other tremendous difficulties they may face come from potential feelings of loneliness, helplessness and boredom that may come with nursing home life. One of the best ways to combat this is with inter-generational sharing with children and young people. This carnival is designed to engage families and elders to interact, have fun, and make memories!
A large event like our Annual Carnival cannot be accomplished without the support of volunteers and the financial support of generous donors. We cannot thank you all enough for your gifts of time and money. We had over 45 volunteers assist with the carnival this year! If you are interested in donating to the carnival or ACMCC in general, please contact Kimberly Turcott at (269) 673-0498 or see our website at www.allegancountymcc.org. We are appreciative of gifts small and large throughout the year to aid us in providing special items and events for our residents. Thank you again for all your support
